Discovery Programs on Climate Change at La Selva

The Education Department and the La Selva team are developing a series of discovery programs on Climate Change and the Carbon Cycle, Biodiversity, and Plant Adaptations targeted to high school students that visit La Selva.

Developed by Dr. Amanda Wendt and Dr. Carlos de la Rosa, these half-day programs use rainforest experiences to discover elements of each topic in a fun and immersive way. "By using their five senses and a scientific method approach to observations, the students learn much more than they could from lectures or reading. They not only learn the topics. They live them," said Carlos de la Rosa.
