Payment Policy:

• Individual Reservations: Full prepayment 30 days prior the arrival date, according to our office schedule: Monday to Friday (closed on weekends).
• Group Reservations: Full prepayment 90 days prior the arrival date.
• Children under 5 years of age are free of charge when sharing a room with parents.

Please make checks payable to Organization for Tropical Studies.

When making payment, please indicate the reservation number. A legible copy of the deposit must be sent by email to visit.ots@tropicalstudies.org, including details of what is being paid in U.S. dollars.

When entering the Palo Verde National Park, the customer must pay the entrance fee to the rangers in cash. The actual park fee is USD$12 per person per day and is NOT INCLUDED in our rates.

Cancellation Policy for Individuals

1)  Overnight and Day Visitors:

1. 100% refund of deposit is made if written notice of cancellation is given more than 30 days before arrival
2. 50% refund of deposit is made if written notice of cancellation is given more than 29-15 days before arrival
3. NO refund of deposit is made if written notice of cancellation is given more than 14 days or less

Cancellation Policy for Groups (Group Rates)

1)   Overnight Visitors:

1. 100% refund of deposit is made if written notice of cancellation is given more than 90 days before arrival
2. 50 refund of deposit is made if written notice of cancellation is given more than 60 days before arrival
3. NO refund of deposit is made if written notice of cancellation is given more than 59 days or less before arrival

2)   Day Visitors:

1. 100% refund if written notice of cancellation is given more than 30 days before arrival
2. 50% refund of deposit is made if written notice of cancellation is given more than 29-15 days before arrival
3. NO refund of deposit is made if written notice of cancellation is given more than 14 days or less

IMPORTANT NOTES: Cash refunds will not be given at the stations. They are processed only through the San José office.

Recommendations:

1. Please specify if clients will arrive for lunch or dinner time. Otherwise, we schedule dinner as the first meal.
2. The use of open-toed shoes or walking barefoot is not permitted in the stations or on the trails for safety reasons. Only hiking boots or tennis shoes are allowed.
3. Manipulating species (flora and fauna) is not allowed in our research stations without a permit for conservation and safety reasons.
4. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
