    Submit a personal statement describing why you want to study on this program and what you hope to gain from it. Describe your academic background (including relevant courses taken, laboratory and field experiences, travel, or employment); your interest in ecology, scientific research, conservation and local culture; your academic and career objectives and how this OTS abroad program will be beneficial to you. This statement should be typed, 1-2 pages in length and double-spaced. Accepted file types: pdf, doc, docx, rtf.

  • Letter of Recommendation

    One letter of recommendation is required by all applicants. You should request a letter from a science faculty who knows you well, is from your major department, and with whom you have taken at least one class within the past several years. Please ask him or her to provide the letter through this link https://tropicalstudies.org/letter-of-recommendation/. You will be notified by email once the letter has been submitted.


  • Official Transcript

    All applications must include an official transcript submitted by the applicant's affiliated university.
